GREENWAY WILDLIFE HABITAT COMITTEE

The Greenway Wildlife Habitat Committee coordinates efforts to identify plant and animal habitats that should be saved, restored, and enhanced both for their intrinsic value in the natural environment and for the roosting of birds and other animals. Conservation efforts are directed towards promoting wildlife habitats allong the Pinehurst Greenway System, but the committee also encourages the conservation of wildlife habitats throughout Pinehurst.

The Greenway Wildlife Habitat Committee holds workshops throughout the year, focusing on different aspects of landscaping, planting, and wildlife.  The Greenway Wildlife Habitat Committee achieved the National Wildlife Federation backyard habitat award for the Pinehurst Greenway Trail.
