COMMUNITY WATCH

Pinehurst Community Watch (PCW) was formed on October 25, 1993 with the stated objective to help maintain a safe and peaceful atmosphere for the citizens of Pinehurst. The organization is currently made up of approximately 350 volunteers, residing throughout the Village. Through Block Captains, the volunteers make appropriate information available to as many residents as possible, including a valuable confidential 911 Questionnaire that assists emergency responders. In times of emergencies, authorized messages from the Village, the Pinehurst Police and Fire Departments, Moore County Emergency Management Services, and Progress Energy are distributed through the Block Captains to residents. The PCW routinely works very closely with the Pinehurst Police Department designated Liaison Officer, Lt. Jerry McDonald, in an effort to help reduce local crime. Representatives of PCW meet with Police Chief Ronnie Davis to review monthly crime statistics.
